Advisory

Our first priority is to determine whether R|trace is a good fit for your enterprise. Initially we will provide a free refrigerant management and compliance assessment to identify where and how R|trace would drive down your refrigerant emissions.

The assessment is also applicable to new refrigerant management programs. We help identify the areas of focus and guide you through each implementation step.

Custom development

If you have experience with enterprise systems in the supermarket industry, you have likely wondered why it is so hard to get the vendor to accommodate even a simple change.

You will not find that attitude at VEC. In fact, we designed R|trace for flexible single customer deployments to ensure we easily can deploy custom features to your R|trace server as they get done.

Sensor integration

We are big fans of refrigerant devices such as leak detectors and level sensors. But typically these devices are underutilized because they figure as auxiliary devices in a building control system. The user is often left with nothing but a primitive alarm that needs to be tracked manually.

We can further automate the compliance workflow by integrating sensors with R|trace via: API posts, Danfoss/Emerson alarm processing or direct connection to VEC's sensor gateway.

Cloud hosting

R|trace is hosted in the cloud so you don't have to install and run server software in your organization. We make sure you always have access and that your data is safe.

We built R|trace to run on Amazon Web Services to take advantage of its unparalleled robustness, scalability and availability. That eliminates the need to maintain physical servers, so we can focus our efforts on the application.

About us

VEC Baltimore was founded from experience in the refrigeration control industry, particularly energy controls for supermarkets. We recognize that supermarket chains are very complex businesses and large consumers of energy, fuel and refrigerants. The potential for resource savings is enormous.

But we don't believe it makes sense to throw increasingly complex devices at sustainability problems while ignoring the operational complexity of the organization. This is especially the case with solutions that need to incorporate complex business workflows such as the refrigerant compliance process.

VEC strives to focus on all aspects of a sustainability challenge. For the case of refrigerants, this means deploying and supporting R|trace to make the most positive impact in the customer's business.
